In Sanskrit, "Abhyanga" means "loving hands." In Ayurveda, we massage regularly with carrier oils infused with herbs and/or essential oils specific to our current needs (vikruti). "Sneha" refers to "oil" or "love". Such as the experience of being loved, receiving Abhyanga can bring about the feeling of being loved and cared for.
It is suggested that we incorporate Abhyanga into our daily care regimen (dainacharya).
“The body of one who uses oil massage regularly does not become affected much even if subjected to accidental injuries, or strenuous work. By using oil massage daily, a person is endowed with pleasant touch, trimmed body parts and becomes strong, charming and least affected by old age”
Charaka Samhita Vol. 1, V: 88-89

Step-by-Step Guide to performing Abhyanga:
Jivana offers 3 distinctly different Abhyanga oils, each custom designed with a blend of 5-6 herbs in carrier oil specific to each dosha. These oils are created slowly over the course of several hours, cooked gingerly and methodically until the right solution is achieved.
Kapha Abyhanga: An invigorating blend of herbs and essential oils in a base of sesame, jojoba, and grapeseed oils to nourish, treat, yet not over moisturize your naturally hydrated skin.
Pitta Abhyanga: A soothing, cooling oil with rose and sandalwood notes and calming herbs. Perfect for Pitta's easily reactive, red and inflamed skin.
Vata Abhyanga: Grounding and toning herbs form the base of this oil to help build, center, and quiet the fluctuating energy of the Vata mind and body.
